OHIMA Career Coaching Pilot Program – Launching March 2026

The OHIMA Mentorship Committee is excited to announce plans for a Career Coaching Pilot Program, scheduled to launch in March 2026. This initiative is designed to support Health Information (HI) professionals through focused, short-term career coaching that emphasizes goal setting, professional self-reflection, and practical career development strategies aligned with today’s evolving HI landscape.

Participation in this program will be limited to active OHIMA Professional members only. To ensure a meaningful and manageable pilot experience, the committee is seeking four (4) HI professionals to participate in the initial cohort. This pilot is not open to students, as it is intentionally structured to support working HI professionals who are navigating career advancement, role transitions, leadership development, or skill enhancement.

The pilot program will utilize a structured intake and self-reflection process to help participants identify career goals, strengths, challenges, and areas for growth. Coaching conversations will be guided by participant-driven objectives such as clarifying short- and long-term career plans, preparing for promotions or role changes, strengthening technical or leadership competencies, and exploring alternative career pathways within HI.

This is a pilot program, and participation will be intentionally limited while the OHIMA Mentorship Committee evaluates program structure, outcomes, and sustainability. Additional details, including application instructions and timelines, will be shared soon. OHIMA members are encouraged to watch for upcoming communications as the full program launch approaches.

If you are interested in being part of our pilot with 4 HI professionals, please fill out the intake form. Send questions to OHIMA.
